Ugh! I can't believe how ignorant this person is. This person deliberately criticized the entire Filipino nation on the basis of his meager knowledge of our culture and of his interaction with adolescent filipinos in chatrooms.

As we've all come to notice, in the past few decades, Filipinos have
begun to infest the United States like some sort of disease. Their extensive
involvment in the U.S. Armed Forces is proof of the trashy kind of qualities
all filipinos tend to exhibit on a regular basis.You can see this clearly by
studying the attitudes and cultural Icons of most Filipino Americans.

PART 1: Origins of Pinoys/Pinays: Are they really asian?
Well we've come to accept the fact the filipinos come from a part of the
world known as South East Asia. But the term "Asia" is used in the wrong way.
You may notice that contemporary filipino americans try very hard to associate
themselves with groups that we know asasian. I cannot count the number of times
I have seen a 'Third World' Filipino try to connect themselves to the Chinese
or Japanese people. There is no connection and here's why. The Philippines is a
Third World country. Nothing respectable has EVER been created by filipino
people during our entire human history. Young filipino men in america have
become obsessed with "import racing". They have an enormously perverted
affection for Japanese cars. It's a common phenomenon. In their minds, these
filipinos somehow, believe that they are asian and that it somehow connects
them to japanese people and japanese cars. They often take credit for the
ingenuity of Japanese people and say how it's an "asian thing". This
term..."asian thing" derived directly from African American slang "black
thang". "It's a black thang." "It's an asian thang." You can see the
connection. It's even funnier that, in Japan, Filipinos are heavily
discriminated against. The only filipinos that can live successfully in Japan
are the filipino prostitutes. But that's the case for most filipino people no
matter where they live in the world.Now we've come down to this fact...and it
is a fact. Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as asian. They have no
architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way,asian.
Thinking of the great countries in Asia such as Japan, Korea, and China there
is no way you can possibly connect the Philippine Islands. This assault by
filipino americans to connect themselves with the great, peoples of North East
Asia is foul and disgusting.

PART 2: Young Filipino Americans: The Disease of Society.
See for yourself and go to any young filipino's website or chatroom, and
you will be able to see kind of attitude that's stinking up america! Some
things you might see: Dialouge such as the following (taken directly from a
chatroom in IRC): (please keep in mind that most people in these chatrooms are
young filipinos between the ages of(13-25).

(Translation: Her name is Asian Girly. This young woman obviously thinks she is
somehow asian, but we'll adress that later. She's simply saying that she has
arrived in the chatroom but she's saying it in the most immature, ghetto, and
baby-type way possible. I'm suprised she said "Rheina is in the house" rather
than just "Rheina in the house".But notice how she spelled the word "is" as
"ish". The way a baby would pronounce it. The AlTeRnAtiNG CaPiTaLs is also
very common.)

(A filipino male...he's obsessed with japanese cars and masturbates frequently
to Japanese Porno Cartoons, known as 'Hentai'. His response, is based on the
fact he listens to way too much Puff Daddy and thinks that he's some type of
"Player". Player is a concept invented by Black Americans. It simply means that
a young man has good luck with women. A "Player" often has sex with numerous
females and has more than one girlfriend at a time according to the Black
defenition. If the, filipinos have a different definition for this term I'm
not sure. But I think if you apply this term to a filipino male it usually
describes a young man who tries to have sex with girls by meeting them on the
internet. He, may or may not be successful in accomplishing this, but it just
shows the, LOW LEVEL on which filipinos operate and conduct themselves. What's
most interesting about this conversation so far is that it could be easily
mistaken for two African americans speaking to each other. There's nothing
distinctly 'asian' in this dialouge and it certianly doesn't reflect the level
of respect and intlelligence you find when Japanese or Chinese people relate to
each other in their own language!)

(This scum level of human interaction is not only disgusting and offensive, but
pathetic as well. And there's alot more than this going, on in chatrooms all
over the internet every hour.)

Try visiting a young filipino's web site too. You'll see something
called the "Asian IRC Ring". It has to do with the chatrooms. The most horrible
thing about this is that these TRASHY people are trying to associate themselves
with Asia again!! People in Asia don't act like, this at all. What we are
seeing here is the natural filipino in it's element with full access to
technologyand this is how they act! You will consistently see this behavior
over and over again. Another interesting thing is that these "thirdworld"
people also frequent IRC chatrooms such as #chinese #japan and #asian. They
must believe that they are some how related racially or culturally to North
Asians. But it's completely WRONG! There might have been some distant contact
with China and even less with Japan during World War II, but these people are
actually more closely related to african americans and mexican americans. Do
the parents of these young filipinos know what's going on? Would they accept
this? I believe that they would and do. This is the natural "Trash" element
in filipinos manifesting itself. Nothing good has ever come from Philippines
and I don't believe anything good ever will.

PART 3: The Conclusion: Recogonizing your Roots ( A Message to
Filipinos)
To all filipino people:
Please recognize yoour ROOTS! You come from the the Third World! Your
country is a disgusting and filthy place. Most people there live in poverty!
Your culture has MUCH MORE SPANISH influence than chinese, and absolutely no
JAPANESE influence whatsoever. People in Japan and China, do not act like you.
They do not constantly talk about sex and they have a MUCH HIGHER level of
RESPECT for each other. There is NO WAY that you can connect yourself to Asia
other than location. Your culture and technological advancement does not even
come CLOSE to what Chinese, people have done in the past and what Japanese and
Korean people are doing now! Everything you do is distinctly filipino. You
cannot take credit for Japanese cars, video games, or Hentai! It's not an
"asian thing" it's, an "american thing". You have no concept of culture..no
concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy! Can you demonstrate how you use
Confucianism or Taoism in you everyday, life?? You can't. And you will NEVER be
able to.I understand that you are trying to create an identity for yourselves
as young people...but it is NOT related to Asia. Your Identity is Filipino.
That's all you are. Just Filipino. Think about what that means....""

I would like to contest his claim with the following:

1. The Philippines is predominantly inhabited by either Malay or Chinese. ASIA is not just East Asia. Asia has a vast and diverse set of cultures. And even before the Spanish era, Philippines and China have already been trading. Perhaps, what this guy is saying is that of the western sereotype that Asia is just China and Japan.

2. Our origin dates back tens and thousand of years ago. Our ancestors are not just the "Negritos" which I presume this guy is talking about as related to the inhabitants of Africa. And yes! It might also be true for not just our country because back then there were still land bridges. And then there were the Malay who came to our shores thus the term "baranggay" (the smallest political unit in the Philippines) which came from the term used to describe the the watercraft that the Malay's used, "balangay". Then came Magellan who got lost and found himself in the Philippines instead of the Moluccas where he died thanks to Lapu-lapu. And from here started numerous expeditions from Spain to colonize the Philippines. Oh, and by the way, the Philippines by that time was not unified into one nation. We were, what the westerners and europeans called, barbarians. In reality though, we had written language. But just like with the others they colonized, they burned everything, including our "Alibata".

2. Given the fact that the Philippines has been colonized by Catholicism and by which has taught the indios (Filipinos) "blessed are the poor for they will inherit the kingdom of God". Ok, so I'm going a bit off with this but the whole point is. The Filipinos has been suppressed for 300 years of eclessiastical authority. And I have read a lot of studies relating this to the reason of corruption in the government, etc. The relation of this to whether Filipinos are asians or not, don't worry, I'll get there.

3. With regards to young filipinos within the chatrooms using aweful words. I know, I've had to deal with them in the past but that does not make all young Filipinos like that. Judging young Filipinos for the flimsy reason of having to interact with "those people" does not make the entire Filipino youth in general like those people. Has he even entered a european chatroom? I mean, I've had to deal with perverted adult males there a few years ago and I didn't judge Europeans as perverted gorillas. Oh, and if this guys complaining about chatrooms, I wonder what he would say if he ever joins an SMS clan here. But in all honesty, I also regard people like those as society's humiliation. And I am very much embarassed about being associated with them for I am a Filipino. But still, that does not make every Filipino like them.

4. Oh, and with the Filipino obession of western attitudes and merchandise. here's also the MEDIA DRIVEN influence. There are various reasons. One of those perhaps would be that of the governments apparent disregard for the Philippine's cultural heritage. The Philippines has been, again colonized, by the americans during the turn of the century. Although they claimed that they liberated the Philippines from the Spaniards, it was actually, the other way around. They educated the Filipinos, I have read some accounts that it was actually indoctination so that the natives would not revolt anymore. During the word war, Filipinos remained loyal to the Americans despite the latter having to flee from the archipelago during the Japanesse invasion. Filipino troops also fought against the communists in Korea and non-combatant ones in Vietnam.

5. Having to desagnate a country as third world does not make its people lesser that those of the 1st worlds. When the Philippines was granted independence by the Americans, the Parity amendment was included in the constitution of the new Republic in which U.S. citizens are given equal rights with the Filipinos in the exploitation of natural resources.
The Filipinos, perhaps, are that way because of their situation -- economically, politically, and socially. Filipino work force has been exported because the Philippine's corrupt government cannot sustain the burgeoning population and the massive joblessness that plagues the country. Most Filipinos live below the poverty line. Having to descriminate them and call them digusting and filthy not only make the person who made that article a bigot but an ignorant one at that. God! He does not know. He does not know how hard it is to live eating just once a day or sometimes not having to eat at all. I know, because 14 years ago when the publishing house my parents worked at shut-down, we were forced to live in the slums for two years. I was the only one who had toys there, the people there, after lunch and dinner, would collect whatever leftovers their neighbors had and feed them to the pigs. We sometimes didn't eat at all. And I had to eat my little sisters baby food whenever I was hungry. hehe.. okey, okey, enough said. *ehem*
This guy is saying that people from the third world are disgusting. Oh, perhaps, because he's just sitting there comfortably in his "first world" house in front of his "first world" couch. Oh, I'm so sorry that the social service in our country is practically non-existent.

Okey, I've lots more to say but I'm late for my next class so I'll update my rant later. I'm so sorry for posting this...
