Last sunday I entered my first art competition just to try my luck. The prize was a free 7 session art lessons from this art school. The medium was pastel and 1/2 illustration board. Gosh.. I haven't used pastel since I was in primary school and the last time I used it was horrific. It was all messy. I hate pastels. And thus, my piece for the art competition came out messy yet I managed to be a finalist (although, I don't exactly know how). Two of my colleagues from our publication also joined. Both of them are upperclassmen. One was the art director. It wasn't really fair since the piece he made was a work he already did before and was already published and he is really really good I must admit. And yeah, he won the grand prize. And my other senpai won second leaving me with the other artist-wannabes. Mariano-senpai (the person who one the grand-prize, I call them senpai ^^) was so generous that he gave me his prize. I honestly don't know why. He said that he didn't have time to attend those lessons anyway since he's so busy. Ilagan-senpai (my other colleague) treated us both to dinner for our hard work. And during those times, I was constantly persuading Mariano-senpai to take his prize back since it didn't seem right if I use it. I mean, I didn't win that and it just seems wrong for me to use it. Yes, I did want that prize, I wanted it so badly but I'm not really a skilled artist at all. And just yesterday, Ilagan-senpai and I attended the first session together and I just felt horrible. Everybody in that competition wanted that prize, and just because Mariano-senpai is my friend, I get to have it? Its not right.... But still, I am very greatful to have such a caring senpai. I like to think that he knew how much I wanted that just to justify my right but still..
Anyway, I'm continuing my experimental comic series and finally gave it a proper title, "Sickling". Although, its not very good. T_T I suck at writing.

Sorry if I haven't been active for a long time. There just so many things I had to attend to and so little time. Again, I'm on a tight budget since I just payed rent. >_<

You are a skilled artist and you need to stop putting yourself down. Your exactly like my other friend, he's an awesome artist but doesn't believe in himself. It's not fair that you can have so much talent, skill and potential and just not see it.
We all have lives outside of deviantART so it's alright that you haven't been active. Don't worry neither have I. I'm begining to be more active again though
And ohmygosh, I just realized as I was going through the journal to comment that you featured me, and without my knowledge, that's not only awesome, but so totally cool and kind of you
